- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil or avocado oil
- 3 cloves of garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons of red pepper optional
- 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
- 1 cup of long-grain rice
- 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup of vegetable broth
- 1 cup of milk
- 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
- Additional lemon juice if desired
Melt the butter and olive oil together in a pan over medium heat.
Add the lemon zest, red pepper, and minced garlic, and sauté until softened and fragrant.
Stir in the rice and mix to coat it well.
Season with turmeric, salt, and pepper.
