Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup tomato sauce

Instructions
 

Prepare the Rice:

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the uncooked rice to the pan and season with garlic salt and cumin. Cook, stirring constantly, until the rice is puffed and golden.

Cook the Onion:

  • Add the chopped onion to the rice and cook, stirring frequently, until the onion has softened.

Simmer with Liquids:

  • Stir in the chicken broth and tomato sauce. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Simmer the Rice:

  • Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

Fluff and Serve:
