Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 3 tablespoons potato starch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • Oil spray

For the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce:

  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 lemon zested
  • ¼ cup lemon juice or more to taste
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1-2 teaspoons ground pepper
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Chicken:

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F. Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture.
  • In a bowl, combine the potato starch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Toss the chicken wings in this mixture to coat them evenly.

Prepare the Baking Sheet:

  • Lightly spray a parchment-lined sheet pan with oil. Arrange the chicken wings on the sheet pan in a single layer. Lightly spray the tops of the chicken wings with more oil.

Bake the Chicken Wings:

  • Lower the oven temperature to 425°F. Bake the chicken wings for 35-40 minutes, depending on their size, flipping them halfway through. Spray the tops with a bit more oil at the halfway mark.

Make the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce:

  • While the wings bake, combine the honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, butter, salt, and pepper in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir and simmer the sauce for 3-5 minutes, until everything is well combined and the sauce has thickened slightly. Set aside a small portion of the sauce for dipping, if desired.

Toss the Wings:

  • Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a bowl. Toss the wings in the honey lemon pepper sauce to coat them evenly.

Serve:

  • Serve the wings hot, with the reserved sauce on the side for dipping, if desired. Enjoy!
