Total Time 25 minutes mins
- 1.5 pounds of ground beef 80/20 ratio for optimal juiciness
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup of sour cream
- 1/2 cup of crumbled bacon approximately six cooked bacon strips
- 2 tablespoons of ranch seasoning
- 6 slices of cheese cheddar or your preferred type
- 6 brioche hamburger buns
- Optional Toppings:
- Burger sauce
- Caramelized onions
- Pickles
Cook six strips of bacon until crispy, then remove them from the pan and chop or crumble into small pieces. Set aside for later use.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, and the prepared bacon crumbles. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Divide the mixture and shape it into six equal patties, each about 1/4 pound in size.
Heat a griddle or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about five minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another four minutes. Place a slice of cheese on each patty, cover, and let cook for an additional minute or until the cheese is fully melted. Remove from heat.
Transfer the patties onto brioche buns and top with your favorite condiments. Suggested toppings include burger sauce, caramelized onions, and pickles for the full Crack Burger experience.
Feel free to use other ground beef blends besides the traditional 80/20; just remember that leaner blends will have less fat, which can result in a drier, less flavorful burger if overcooked.
For an extra boost of flavor, add my Rocky Mtn Beef Rub (sold under the Phelps Barbecue label) to the meat mixture or sprinkle it on the patties before cooking.
