Ingredients

  • 1 pound 85% lean ground beef
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal-style steak seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened (or as needed)
  • 6 slices white bread
  • 6 slices Colby-Jack cheese

Instructions

Prepare the Patties:

  • In a bowl, combine the ground beef, parsley, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and steak seasoning.
  • Mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Form the mixture into three equal patties.

Cook the Burgers:

  • Heat a nonstick griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  • Place the patties on the griddle and cook to your desired doneness, about 4 to 6 minutes per side.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (71°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the burgers from the griddle and set aside.

Prepare the Grilled Cheese:

  • Warm a second griddle over medium heat.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place half of the bread slices, buttered-side down, on the griddle.
  • Top each slice with a slice of cheese, a burger, and a second slice of cheese.
  • Place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered-side up.

Grill the Sandwiches:

  • Cook the sandwiches until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 6 to 10 minutes.
  • Flip the sandwiches halfway through to ensure even browning.

Serve:

  • Remove the sandwiches from the griddle, slice, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cooking Tip: You can adjust the cooking time based on how well-done you prefer your burgers.
  • Optional Add-ins: Consider adding extra toppings like pickles, lettuce, or tomato for a more traditional burger experience.
