Total Time 12 minutes mins
- 1 stick unsalted butter softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 slices of white bread cut into 1-inch thick slices (you can use regular white bread or French bread)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Italian seasoning to taste
Preheat the broiler in your oven. In a small bowl, combine the butter and garlic powder. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Brush both sides of each slice of bread with the butter mixture and arrange them on an ungreased baking sheet.
Broil the bread for 1 minute on each side, or until lightly golden brown. Sprinkle cheese and Italian seasoning on one side of the bread and broil until the cheese is melted.
Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.
For this recipe, mozzarella cheese is our preferred choice, but you can use any cheese you like. A combination of mozzarella and Parmesan would also be a delicious option, adding extra flavor and richness.
