Cook Time 40 minutes mins
- 2 8-ounce cans of crescent rolls
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups of Sprite 7 Up, or another lemon-lime soda
- 2 apples Golden Delicious or Granny Smith
Butter a 13x9-inch baking dish and preheat the oven to 350°F.
Peel and core the apples, then slice each apple into 8 pieces.
Wrap each apple slice in a crescent roll and arrange them in the buttered dish.
In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Once the mixture thickens, remove it from the heat and pour it over the dumplings.
Carefully pour the soda into the pan, focusing on the middle and edges, avoiding the tops of the rolls.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown.
Serve warm.
